Some storms may become strong, especially north of Orlando, bringing gusty winds (up to 50 mph), frequent lightning and heavy downpours. Activity will wind down by midnight, with a few showers before daybreak across our northern coast.
Even with more rain around, it will still be hot and humid, with highs in the upper 80s to mid-90s and heat index values soaring to 100–105.
If you’re spending time outside, stay hydrated and limit sun exposure during peak heat.
Slightly drier by weekend
Moisture levels start taking a dip by Saturday and Sunday, with rain chances lowering to 30-50%.
Storms will still be around but are expected to remain inland, with highs in the low to mid-90s.
Most of the rain into early next week will be confined inland, with humidity levels not as high.
