POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County firefighters confirmed one fatality resulting from a burning RV near Lakeland on Saturday.
Crews were dispatched around noon to Combee Road, where they arrived to an RV fully engulfed in flames and with an individual potentially trapped inside, Polk County Fire Rescue said in a news release.

The firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and soon located the deceased individual, the release states.
No other injuries were reported, according to the fire department.
The Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office and Polk County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating.
