TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – As Tallahassee Memorial Hospital continues treating victims of the deadly mass shooting at Florida State University that left two people dead and six injured, members of the hospital staff gave an update on the patients’ conditions on Friday.
The hospital said it received six patients after the shooting. Upon arrival, all six were in stable condition, with three requiring surgery, the medical team said.

Staff members said the surgical team worked diligently, and all three patients have since emerged from the operating room. Currently, all six patients remain stable, although one is in fair condition due to a serious injury.
The medical staff expressed optimism about the patients’ recoveries.
“We do feel that all will make a full recovery. Notably, two patients may be discharged (Friday), a development the team is proud of,” Dr. Brett Howard said.
Meanwhile, the campus held a vigil Friday for those who were killed and those who were injured.
The two people killed worked in hospitality services.
Aramark, the company that manages the FSU dining program, said Friday in a statement that one of its employees was killed.
“We are heartbroken to confirm that an Aramark employee was among those killed at FSU yesterday in that senseless act of violence. We are absolutely shaken by the news and our deepest sympathies are with the family and our entire Aramark community.”

Aramark did not confirm the name of the victim.
However, on Friday, the Strom Law Firm announced in a news release that Tiru Chabba, a 45-year-old man from South Carolina, was killed in the shooting.
The family hired attorney Bakari Sellers to represent them.
“Tiru Chabba’s family is going through the unimaginable now,” Sellers said in a news release. “Instead of hiding Easter eggs and visiting with friends and family, they’re living a nightmare where this loving father and devoted husband was stolen from them in an act of senseless and preventable violence.”
A LinkedIn account shows Tiru Chabba is a regional vice president for Aramark Collegiate Hospitality, based in South Carolina.
Aramark manages dining facilities and other hospitality services for hospitals, universities, school districts, stadiums, convention centers around the world. In Central Florida, they manage dining facilities at UCF in Orlando, hospitality facilities at the Amtrak-Sanford station, and the Osceola County Jail.
The other man who was killed was Robert Morales, who worked in dining services at FSU.
News 6’s Catherine Silver spoke to the owner of Gordos restaurant in Tallahassee, who said he knew Morales and said he was “deeply saddened” by the tragedy.
